Cationic & Anionic Polyacrylamide for Solid-Liquid Separation

Polyacrylamide Flocculants

Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a high molecular weight polymer used to promote the aggregation of fine suspended particles into larger flocs, making them easier to separate from water. Davies Muller supplies both cationic and anionic polyacrylamide (REACH certified), with the appropriate grade selected according to the characteristics of the process, solids, water chemistry and separation equipment. Polymer selection is application dependent and is normally confirmed through laboratory or process testing.

Oil and Gas

Polyacrylamide is used in various oil and gas processes to improve solid-liquid separation, water clarification and sludge treatment. Depending on the application, suitable polymer grades can support produced water treatment, drilling fluid management, solids removal and wastewater clarification.

Water Industry

Polyacrylamide flocculants are used in municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment to aggregate suspended particles and improve their separation from water. Applications include clarification, sludge thickening, sludge dewatering and the treatment of various industrial wastewater streams.

Mining Industry

In mineral processing, polyacrylamide is widely used to promote the flocculation and settling of fine mineral particles. It can support tailings treatment, concentrate and slurry dewatering, clarification and process-water recovery, helping improve solid-liquid separation and water reuse.

Paper Industry

In paper manufacturing, polyacrylamide can be used as a retention and drainage aid and to improve the separation of suspended solids during wastewater treatment. Appropriate polymer selection can contribute to improved fiber and filler retention, process-water clarification and sludge dewatering.
